Q. Does SENDiT distinguish between documents which are historical and those that are required for current SEN planning?

Q. Does SENDiT distinguish between documents which are historical and those that are required for current SEN planning?

 ·         Yes, we use the terms current and archived.

·                The following guidance is also on the ‘Document Upload Page’ for users to refer to as they upload   documents.

 Current documents.

·         Documents which contain the current understanding or reporting of a CYP’s needs/ strengths/aspirations/outcomes & provision recommendations.

·         These current document may include for example:

·               An NHS Clinic letter which shares a diagnosis.

·               Specialist input which informs current planning, regardless of date.

·               Teaching and SENDCo documents which inform the current planning.

·               The previous setting’s final IEP or Learning plan (as named by the setting) prior to transition.

·               Most recent annual review documents or parent/carer meeting notes.

·               Current ‘One Page Profile ‘or another pupil voice document.

Archived documents

·         SENDiT considers ‘archived’ as the documents which have been superseded by current documents.  For example, a SALT Therapy Plan which has been actioned and reviewed and then replaced by the next one.

·         Therefore, some documents may still be current, regardless of date, if they contain pertinent information or specialist input which directly informs the current iPlan.  For example, an EP document which reports on a cognitive assessment which is still valid.

·         The SENDCo will determine which documents are archived.

·         All archived documents can be reactivated at any time.
